These trainings are provided by LSU Health in Louisiana.
The HIV Medical Case Management Core Curriculum consists of six distinct learn-on-demand modules that provide basic knowledge for medical case managers intending to serve people living with HIV (PLWH). The curriculum is designed to provide the foundation of HIV clinical and treatment knowledge and provide skill-building opportunities to nursing or social work medical case managers to enhance care for PLWH.
Each module covers a specific topic that is an essential component of the care of PLWH. Each module includes a Pre- and Post-test to allow learners to measure their knowledge change. Both the National Association of Social Workers, Louisiana Chapter and the Louisiana State Nurses Association have approved each module for CEU credit. Each Module may be completed as a separate learning opportunity, or all together as a complete curriculum. The learn-on-demand technology is to allow learners to complete the training independently.
The curriculum also contains an online Competency Exam that can be used to measure the case manager’s achievement of the program’s goals. The Competency Exam is based on the material covered in all six modules.
